Aisling Craik – Managing Director

Having worked in the customer service and sales sectors of pharmaceuticals, car leasing and laboratory services, I came to Meadowrose Scientific for two weeks to help the company improve its customer service and admin whilst on a career break in 1997. I never left!

I stayed with Meadowrose Scientific because I believed in the idea of coupling the service and repair of a large range of equipment with excellent technical and customer service. I was also committed to understanding and caring for our customer's needs. A belief I shared with our founder and previous MD, Ray. Ray felt these convictions had been lost by some of the multinational companies that he had worked for or been in competition with. I've worked in all areas of the business (except engineering), experience that has prepared me for the role of Managing Director, which I've now held since 2006.

At Meadowrose Scientific we work as a team. Everybody's input is important. Everyone really cares about their customers and the company. Everyone is willing to go that extra mile. I see in them the same goals we all value. It's great watching people develop and have the confidence to take ownership of their own areas. Everyone's always enthusiastic about what they're doing, or who they're talking to; they care about and are considerate towards each other. I'm very proud of our team!

It's great when a customer says ‘thank you'; fortunately this is a regular occurrence! I really enjoy talking to and visiting customers. When I talk to potential customers it's not what I would call selling; I just explain what we do and who we are (which seems to work) – it's easy talking about something you're very proud of.

As with all jobs, some days are stressful but the satisfaction of a job well done and the pleasure I take in our achievements keep me very well motivated.
